ATP (Air Trick Points) are used to increase your stats. ATP really determines what power level your on, the higher the point the more difficult tricks you can pull off.
Each stat has a different purpose.
Acceleration - The time it takes between reaching your maximum speed. This also measures what your maximum speed is.
Flexibility - Much like a gymnast this determines how flexible and tangible you are. Having high flexibility makes executing tricks and performing them mid air much more easier.
Braking - Braking is important for making sharp turns and coming to a stop. If your braking is low then it makes it difficult for your character to make those sharp turns which could determine whether or not you win.
Control - The amount of control you have while riding your AT's. It determines how much maneuverability you have whilst on your AT's. If someone were to have high control then it allow them to ride their AT's in confined spaces a lot more easily than someone with low control.
Power - The users leg power. This works in conjunction with Jump. Essentially the more power you have, the more power in your legs. Allowing for stronger attacks and more stable landings.
Jump - Simple, how high and how long you get air time.

Earning ATP is simple, every 100 words you role play post with is the equivalent of 1 ATP. So the larger posts you have the more ATP you earn.
With this system in place it means stats will only begin to become beneficial around the 120 mark. For example when posting in character, your could have 12 Strength which would be the equivalent to a weak, amateur punch. Whilst 122 strength would be equivalent to an almost inhumanly punch which could not only break bones but possibly cause internal damaging.
